We kindly invite you to a virtual meeting where we will talk about the possibilities of teaching about the Holocaust using various teaching tools.
The meeting will be held on Thursday, 27 January 2022, at 1:30 p.m. The meeting will last approximately 60 minutes and will take place in the Microsoft Teams web application.
No prior registration is required to participate in the virtual meeting.
Programme of the meeting:
- Opening greeting (Marjetka Bedrač, Center of Jewish Cultural Heritage Synagogue Maribor)
- Teaching about the Holocaust, presentation of current possibilities and opportunities for developing teaching about this genocide in the future (Vojko Kunaver, Institute of Education of the Republic of Slovenia)
- Use of teaching tools in teaching about the Holocaust, presentation of new thematic exhibitions and publications (Marjetka Bedrač)
- Shoah – How was it Humanly Possible?, presentation of the Yad Vashem exhibition (Damjan Snoj, Preserje Elementary School)
- The exhibition Ana Frank – a story for the present and the Crocus Project, a presentation of teaching about the Holocaust at Tone Okrogar Elementary School (Dejan Kramžar, Tone Okrogar Elementary School, Zagorje ob Savi)
- Short discussion, conversation about good practices in teaching about the Holocaust and exchange of ideas between participants
The seminar is organized by the Center of Jewish Cultural Heritage Synagogue Maribor in cooperation with the Institute of Education of the Republic of Slovenia. We would also like to thank teacher Dejan Kramžar for his initiative.
