Marpurgi: between history and literary freedom, hosting a documentary exhibition of the Synagogue Maribor and the Maribor Library in the Central Library of Srecko Vilhar Koper.

In 2019, the Beletrina publishing house published the fourth reprint of the novel Marpurgi by Zlata Vokač Medic, and on this occasion Synagogue Maribor and the Maribor library prepared an extensive documentary exhibition entitled Marpurgi: between history and literary freedom. The exhibition consists of two parts: the first part presents the work and life of Zlata Vokač Medic, while the second part provides a wealth of information about the city of Maribor in the 14th and 15th centuries, with a special emphasis on the fate of Maribor’s medieval Jewish community. The authors of the exhibition are Klemen Brvar and Boris Hajdinjak.

The exhibition will be on display in the Central Library of Srecko Vilhar Koper from 4th of October to 4th of November 2022.

On 4th of October at 6:00 p.m., the opening will also take place, where the author of the exhibition, Boris Hajdinjak, will welcome you. In addition, a lecture about the exhibition will be held at the Department for Adults in the Koper Library on 24th of October at 1:00 p.m.
