We would like to invite you to a lecture by Matjaž Vidmar PhD titled Jewish exile in Shanghai from 1933 to 1945.

The lecturer will speak about the fate of almost 20.000 Jewish refugees from The Third Reich to Shanghai during World War II. The lecture will take place on 24th of April 2019 at 6 p.m. in the Maribor Synagogue (Židovski trg 4).

The lecture is organised as accompanying program to our photographic exhibition “Stranded in Shanghai – Jewish Refugee Life through the Lens of Arthur Rothstein”. The exhibition is part of the permanent collection of Jewish cultural center Ljubljana, and it will remain in Maribor Synagogue until 3rd of June 2019.
