On Wednesday, 25th of January 2023, at 6:00 p.m., we kindly invite you to the Maribor Synagogue (Židovska ulica 4) to the event “Imprints of Suffering“.

At the event, the latest publications of the ZRC SAZU publishing house, thematically related to Jewish culture, anti-Semitism, the Holocaust, the rescue of Jews, and the reflection of Nazi crimes, will be presented.

The following will be presented:

• a collection of essays Prayer for Jasenovac by Slovenian writer Branko Šömn,
• the poetry collection Harvest of the Polish poet Grzegorz Kwiatkowski,
• testimonies of Sonja Borus and Leo Kofler, a book from the “trio” of diary entries about Jewish children from Lesne Brdo.

The publications will be presented by the director of ZRC SAZU dr. Oto Luthar, and selected excerpts will be read by theater actress and member of the SNG Maribor drama ensemble Irena Varga Akif.
