We will start the tour in GT22, and we will complete the programme with a relaxed gathering on the Jewish Square.

Židovska street with its square marks a culturally and historically important part of Maribor, which in today’s urban design also reveals itself as an extremely attractive urbanistically completed corner of the city. Five hundred years ago and more, its image was shaped by one of the largest, if not the largest, Jewish community in the then Slovenian lands, and today its daily pulse is dictated by many cultural and gallery institutions operating here.
In order to promote the recognition of our cultural and artistic production on the one hand, and the recognition of Jewish Street or Jewish Square as the ‘most beautiful balcony of the city’ on the other, we at the Center of Jewish Cultural Heritage Synagogue Maribor, Youth Cultural Center Maribor with Media Nox Gallery, The Maribor Photo Club with the Stolp Photo Gallery, the Maribor Association of Fine Artists with the DLUM Gallery and the GT22 & the Sonda Foundation have merged into the joint ŽIDOVSKA CULTURAL QUARTER initiative.
Within KČŽ, partner organizations will strive to continue to develop non-commercial cultural and artistic production in Maribor, and at the same time raise the level of awareness of the general public that every visitor to KČŽ – regardless of age and expectations and taste – can find a program here, that will attract him and provide him with a quality cultural and artistic experience.
