Festival House of Tolerance

Festival House of Tolerance

29. 03. 2017

The Jewish Cultural Centre Ljubljana and Mini Theatre will organise the third international film festival of tolerance. Within the framework of this year’s festival edition, named the Festival House of Tolerance, some events will be organised in Maribor as well.

On Wednesday, 29 March 2017, we kindly invite you to the Maribor Synagogue to screening of two films. The first one will be presented the short film Fear, while the documentary Fear remains will follow it. The projection will start at 8 p.m.

Fear, Dejan Babošek, Slovenia, 2016, 30′

The short film depicts problems of a Slovenian family with a son who has fallen for racist and fascist propaganda and has joined a group of brutal neo-Nazis. The tragedy of a family mirrors the current political atmosphere and is a clear statement against racism, intolerance and fascist revivals.

Fear remains, Dušan Moravec, Slovenia, 2015, 50′

A haunting documentary about the internment of Slovenes in Italian Fascist camps 1942-1943. Former internees and their artwork testify about the ongoing impact of human rights violations and dehumanisation. The cinematography of Fear remains is outstanding and contributes to its emotional impact.

Organisers of the festival of tolerance are Mini Theatre and Jewish Cultural Centre Ljubljana. The partners of the project the Festival House of Tolerance in Maribor are GT22 in Center of Jewish Cultural Heritage Synagogue Maribor.

We reserve the right to change the schedule of the events. We kindly ask our visitors to follow announcements on the web pages of individual organisers (Mini teater in JKC LjubljanaGT22 Maribor).
