“My Hometown” Project

“My Hometown” Project

The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) unites governments and experts to strengthen, advance and promote Holocaust education, research, and remembrance and to uphold the commitments of the 2000 Stockholm Declaration. The Presidency of the IHRA is held each year by a different Member Country, on a voluntary basis. The United Kingdom holds the current IHRA Presidency, from 1 March 2024–28 February 2025.

Under the UK Chairmanship of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), supported by Collingwood Learning, and in partnership with UCL Centre for Holocaust Education, an international Holocaust education project called “My Hometown” has been designed. Schools from all over the world are welcome to join this initiative, by creating their own project to discover stories that connect their students’ hometown with the Holocaust and its legacy.

For more information about the project, please read the Teacher’s Guide or write to myhometown@collingwoodlearning.com. The project will be coordinated by the Collingswood Learning team, who are on hand to support you every step of the way.
