On Saturday, 15 June 2024, between 6:00 p.m. and 12:00 p.m., the Židovska Kultural Quarter invites you to the Summer Evening at Židovska.

Cultural institutions on the Jewish Square will open their doors for you during this time, and the Synagogue Maribor will also organize a klezmer music concert with the Kontra-Kvartet at 19:30.

In its more than fifteen years of continuous activity, the ethno group Kontra-Kvartet has already firmly established itself in the Slovenian music scene, and has also participated in various music festivals abroad. Kontra-Kvartet is an acoustic group from Maribor, consisting of experienced musicians, who are actively and creatively engaged in playing the traditional music of Eastern European Ashkenazi Jews – the so-called klezmer music, even though the members of the group are not of Jewish origin.
