On Friday, 26 May 2023, at 10:30 a.m., we kindly invite you to the Synagogue Maribor (Židovska ulica 4) for the opening of the documentary-museum exhibition A story of two transports. Jews in Međimurje and Prekmurje during the Holocaust.
The exhibition, which was prepared as part of the Never Forget international project, tells about the long history of Jews in the Prekmurje and Međimurje areas, the rise and prosperity of the Jewish communities in this area, their contribution to the development of cities and towns in both regions, and the sad the fates that befell her during the Holocaust.
The keynote speaker at the opening will be Špela Spanžel, director general of the Directorate for Cultural Heritage at the Ministry of Culture, and the exhibition will be presented by its author Boris Hajdinjak, director of the Synagogue Maribor. The cultural program will feature Katarina Čepin, a student of the Art High School in Maribor (mentor Vesna Čobal).
